Top Five Tips - Aurora Remote Display
The DCI Customer Support Team is available 24/7-365 to answer any questions you have about your DigiTrak or TeraTrak equipment. Today Anthony from our field support team gives you his top five tips to troubleshoot your Aurora remote display in the field.
Settings - Check that both the Locator and remote display are set to the same channel and that the remote is set to listen for the correct locator option. If either of these settings is not correct you will see no information on the remote display. You may also want to verify World Region selected on the Remote matches label inside the locator battery compartment. Double-check the locator is not set to Channel 0, aka Off.
Antenna - Check both the male & female connection of the telemetry antenna – make sure they are clean and intact - If you find either of these parts broken or damaged, give our 1-800 a call.
Pick it up - Hold the receiver off the ground, placing the receiver on the ground can affect its ability to send data back to the remote display. Picking the receiver up off the ground can increase the range of your Aurora remote display, especially in areas of interference.
Switch channels – much like hand-held radios, your Aurora remote display has four available channel options, if you are having interference issues on one, try changing channels. This will often clear up any issues you are having with the signal at the remote display.
Try a Filtered Antenna - In areas of extreme interference, a filtered antenna improves the performance of your remote display by filtering unwanted electrical noise. If you don’t have a filtered antenna, Contact your local DCI dealer. You also have the option of going to a Long Whip or even Yagi directional antenna, call our customer service team for more information.
