What We Saw: ConExpo 2023 Photo Journal
ConExpo is one of the largest construction trade shows on the calendar. Although HDD products and players make up a small part of the show, there were thousands of products and trends on display across the enormous Las Vegas Convention Center that caught our eye. Here are a handful of cool things we saw.
This pit drill is something we're excited about from Tracto-Technick. Some HDD jobs need a hammer and some need a scalpel. This pit drill is offering the sharpest end of the knife when the job doesn't have a lot of space available or distance to go. Steering can still take place but this drill is ideally being used for house connections and under crossings.
Looking for a strong but possibly temperamental laborer? This could be your man. Just don't make him mad.
Drill bits come in all sizes, but this one was certainly the most aggressive we came across at the show. Yikes!
One of the main trends and advancing technologies that were on display at ConExpo were oriented around digital connection and fleet tracking. Some companies were showing off remote-steering and non-manned equipment while others were helping customers see where their heavy machinery was at all times.
Open up and say "awwwww". Actually, clamp down, cut, weld, and never let go again with this beast of a pipe welding tool from Ritmo.
Don't bring a knife to a saw fight. This blade from Rock Tools caught our eye but luckily not our shirt sleeves.
Lot's of big trucks and big engines.
Developing tools to help enhance safety for workers and the public are advancements we'll always give a stamp of approval. To go along with connected devices and digital enhancements, the majority of big rigs at the show had some form of added visual tools to help an operator know their surroundings that also included self-driving tech to identify pedestrians and automatically stop if too close.
And that's where we'll stop. Another ConExpo is in the books and we're looking forward to the next iteration. If you'd like to watch a video that has even more cool things from the show, click here!
